Peer Counseling Program provides Mom's with incentive gifts to continue to breastfeed.

Breastfeeding program and support

Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are here to help breastfeeding moms with any breastfeeding issues they might encounter. ACL WIC BFPC provide prenatal classes, which are held bi-monthly. Peer Counselors can make hospital and home visits if you are unable to get into our office, during regular hours. Keep in mind hospital and home visits will not be made outside of business hours.

Process for BF Moms and Baby

During your pregnancy a Peer Counselor will contact you monthly, then weekly once you get close to 35 weeks gestation. Prenatal classes will be held bi-monthly. These classes will contain information on many topics involving breastfeeding.

Once baby has arrived please call the office to let staff know. You will have to schedule a certification appointment for Mom and the new baby. Breastfeeding supplies and checks will not be available until Mom and new baby have been certified.

Baby will have to be re-certified every six months. Mom will be able to continue to get checks until baby turns a year old if she is only breastfeeding. If Mom is breastfeeding and giving formula, Mom will get checks for six months.

Breast Pumps

ACL WIC provides the following breast pumps according to your needs and situation

Breast pump will not be given until mom and new baby have been certified after baby's birth

Breast pumps are provided to breastfeeding mothers who are returning to work or school. Breastfeeding supplies are given to mothers who is experiencing breastfeeding problems.

ACL WIC Breastfeeding Incentives

Welcome Gift

All moms with newborns will receive Backpack Diaper bag filled with baby items

Exclusively and partially breastfeeding moms will receive pampers items at two months and must bring in baby's immunization Card.

Four Month Gift

At four months exclusively and partially breastfeeding moms will receive black bag filled with personal items.

Six Month Incentives Gift is Changing

The Six Months incentive gift has changed. Will update at a later date as to what item the exclusively breastfeeding moms will be receiving.
